Master Gardener Students Learn All Aspects of Plant, Pest Lives?

Summary

In early January, the 2010 University of Connecticut master gardener classes began in five locations with more than 225 students. In New Haven County, classes are held in the Carriage House at Edgerton Park, New Haven, a lovely location for learning more about horticulture and the environment. Forty-eight students from central and western Connecticut make up the New Haven class.

As in the previous 31 years, future master gardeners come to the program with diverse backgrounds, interests and goals. County master gardener class coordinators Sandi Wilson, of the Bethel Extension Center, and Judith Hsiang, of the North Haven Extension Center, enjoy meeting each new group, watching them grow into knowledgeable and committed master gardeners.
