Man, Woman Charged in Theft From Store

Summary


HAMDEN -- A man and woman from North Branford have been charged in connection with a shoplifting incident at Bob's Store in the Hamden Mart. A man, with a 2-year-old child, had tried to leave the store with a pair of boots. He was detained by store security. An accomplice left the store with another pair of boots, and both were arrested, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

While en route to police headquarters, the man threatened officers, Smith said. Police then learned that he was wanted in New York for violation of parole. The parole violation is related to a conviction of second-degree robbery and possession of prison contraband, Smith said.
