IT'S FROM MAMET, AND IT'S NOT ABOUT CHICKEN WINGS: TheaterWorks has quite the caper for you. On stage now is "American Buffalo," David Mamet's play about three small-town crooks looking to steal a coin collection. Of course, these guys just aren't able to pull it off without some hilarious mistakes. This is one of Mamet's ("Glengarry Glen Ross") funniest works. Andrew Benator, left, Zachary Spicer and John Ahlin all star. The curtain rises at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Beginning Sept. 26, there will be Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are 38, $48 for Friday and Saturday nights, and $12 extra for reserved center seats. Call (860) 527- 7838.
