Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, D-Conn., hopes President Bush will at least delay purchase of six U.S. port operations by the government of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, so Congress is not compelled to act, a spokeswoman said. Lieberman "will support efforts to put the decision on hold, pending investigation, review and reassurance. But he thinks the president should do this so legislation is not necessary," said spokeswoman Leslie Phillips.
Sen. Christopher J.
