Summary
In a Forum article, Jamilah Rasheed wrote that the intransigence of the Israeli and U.S. governments stands in the way of democratic freedoms for Palestinians. That, she argues, is counterbalanced by the innocence of Palestinians who bear that joint "brutality." Israel pulled out of Gaza lock, stock and barrel in 2005 following the agreement it made in the Oslo Accords. Gazans no longer had Israel to blame for all that was wrong. Rasheed ignores what they did with their freedom of choice.
