A young man has killed his mother. He was discharged from detox after three days because his insurance wouldn't pay for more and his family could not find another facility that would take the insurance he had. This is such a gruesome example of the false economy of skimping on services for sick people! It is a sad waste two lives: the mother, who was valuable to her family and to the community, and the son, who will now probably spend the rest of his life in expensive prisons.
It is not that the expense of jails is the most important thing. Obviously, the waste of two lives is most important. But as an example of the false economy, it is a lulu.See the full content of this document
