Summary


Like many other residents I am trying to get my arms around the Checkers audit in West Haven. If under Rich Borer we have had 14 years of balanced budgets, 14 years of good audit reports from outside auditors, and good bond ratings from national companies like Moody's, how did we coincidentally and conveniently go broke the very day John Picard takes office?

And then when he gives large contracts to new auditors he chose without going out to bid, which is a violation of the city charter and the very thing he criticizes the prior mayor for, they happen to find that everyone from the old auditors, to the bond counsel, to the finance director, to the mayor were all wrong.
