Letter to the Editor: Don't Ignore Old Glory During Rest of the Year

Summary


American flags were prominent at the entrances of homes and businesses in observance of the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11. They could be seen waving in the breeze from flagpoles that normally stand empty. They were draped over mailboxes. They were fastened to car antennas. Though some displays were not exactly as protocol requires, it is clear that patriotism and American pride enveloped us.

Many of those flags are gone now.
