MILFORD -- As Anthony Daniel, 38, enters the barnyard section of the city's animal shelter to feed goats Gracie and Georgie, he tells a visitor, "Don't let them get your goat." Daniel, an adult with learning disabilities who is a client of Chapel Haven, is full of clever puns such as "Don't let the dogs out" as he easily makes his way around the shelter to help feed and walk the animals.

He is among a few clients of Chapel Haven, a school that teaches independent living skills, who volunteer at the shelter every Tuesday.
