Kids Always Welcome at Derby Home

Summary

DERBY -- Lillian Tocacelli loved being with kids and having them around. "I could always bring my friends over to our house," said a daughter, Donna Wasilewski of Milford. "One time, I had a friend who was having some trouble at home and my mother warmly welcomed her, fed her and made her understand things weren't as bad as she thought."

Tocacelli also was one heck of a cook and baker. "We cooked together all the time, and she taught me how to make all the family favorites," said Tocacelli's other daughter, Patricia Mastrianni of Derby. "She made these wonderful Italian cookies, which she brought with her wherever she went. One of my favorite memories is the day she taught me how to make those cookies."
