Valley Karate Students Competed at the Connecticut [Derived Headline]

Summary


Valley Karate students competed at the Connecticut State Tang Soo Do Championships in May. The winners are, front, Joseph Niski, 9, of Shelton placed fourth in forms; and back, from left, Matthew Tokarski, 6, of Shelton, placed second in forms and sparring; Sarah Heines, 17, of Shelton, placed first in forms and third in sparring; Alyssa Barry, 7, of Shelton, placed third in forms; Ryan Guerrero, 13, of Derby, placed first in weapons, sparring and forms and was grand champion in weapons and forms; and David Niski, 6, of Shelton won first in forms and third in sparring.

Also, Ryan was promoted to the rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt. He has been training in the art Tang Soo Do for nine years at Valley Karate. Since the rank of orange belt, he has been competing in tournaments and has won many first place and grand champion awards in forms, sparring and weapons.
