BRANFORD -- A lot of marriages don't last 37 years, so it's quite an accomplishment that the Branford Folk Music Society is opening its 37th season Saturday night with a concert featuring the Gloucester Hornpipe & Clog Society, the Massachusetts group which offers an array of songs from Celtic to sea chanteys. The season kick-off concert starts at 8 p.m. in the auditorium of the First Congregational Church of Branford, 1009 Main St.
The Gloucester group can boast some longevity of its own. Founded in 1971, it features six musicians who among them have mastered 16 instruments, which provide a nice accompaniment to their harmonies.See the full content of this document
