Children are able to use the Hamden High School pool this summer after all. Mayor Craig B. Henrici spent several days recently negotiating with the Board of Education and the Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency, the agency that provides the town's liability insurance, so that children enrolled in Parks and Recreation Department summer camps could swim in the pool.
Henrici said he knew school officials were reluctant to open the pool this summer because the high school is considered a construction site, but he wanted to find a way to provide a service to children who might otherwise not have the opportunity to swim.See the full content of this document
