Summary
Housing permits slowed from their torrid June pace last month, but came in far above last year's levels, the state Department of Economic and Community Development said Friday. Cities and towns issued permits for 1,154 new housing units in July, a 24.4 percent increase over the 928 units authorized the same month last year.
