MIDDLETOWN -- A Higganum man was in serious but stable condition at the Bridgeport Hospital Burn Center after an early-morning fire Saturday at 40 Maple Place, police said. The injured man was a visitor to the home, and it appeared the occupants had a fire pit burning at the time, police said.
The South District Fire Department responded to the scene and treated the victim, as did staff from Hunter's Ambulance. The man was taken to the burn center via Life Star helicopter.See the full content of this document
