Summary
Barbara Pearce's tribute to Jean Handley in a Forum column was splendid. I knew Handley at Southern New England Telephone during the late 1970s and 1980s, and admired her greatly. She was extremely supportive of the advancement of women within the company.
She championed the training that the Management Women's Association, now defunct, identified as critical to the development of women, making a key difference in the number of women who moved up the ranks.
