Nothing is guaranteed in life except for death and taxes, the saying goes. But revelations about off-shore accounts, money laundering, Enron and other white collar malfeasance suggests that for many people, taxes are entirely, or for the most part, avoidable.

We remain fairly certain that death is the one inescapable absolute. Not that many of us actually see very many people die of natural causes.
