The New Haven Symphony Orchestra's William Walton CD, which was released earlier this year, has been named a 2010 Critic's Choice by Gramophone Magazine, one of the music industry's leading publications. Each December, Gramophone critics select the recording they will be giving as a holiday gift, and the NHSO CD, which was recorded live at Woolsey Hall, was noted for its "splendidly idiomatic performances" and its soloist, violinist Kurt Nikkanen cited as "clean-cut yet warmly expressive."
