Summary
FIDEL Castro, Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and newly elected Evo Morales of Bolivia share a common cause. Will other Latin American leaders join these three who are vehemently committed to create an anti-U.S. coalition in the hemisphere with an agenda that rejects representative democracy and market economics? Amid charges that the United States has been neglecting Latin America, especially during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, there will be presidential elections in 10 countries from Mexico to Brazil over the next several months. They will determine whether Latin America takes a sharp left turn in its polices and creates serious new problems for the United States.
