Superintendent of Schools Gregory A. Firn said Thursday "it's likely" that he will sue the Board of Education, but also acknowledged there is no legal recourse available to force the school board to extend his contract. But Firn said he also would put his hope in remaining in Milford in the hands of the same school board that he is threatening to sue. Firn said the only way he can remain as superintendent beyond June 30, 2007 is if the board reconsiders its 7 to 3 vote last month against extending his contract.
Firn said he is exploring the feasibility of asking the board to reconsider its vote, therefore allowing him to enter negotiations on a new three-year contract extension.
