Using a $500,000 grant from the state Department of Economic and Community Development, the town is looking to spruce up commercial facades along Route 80 and in Northford Center. Town Manager Karl Kilduff said the grant, which is part of the Small Town Economic Assistance Program, will help businesses improve their appearance and remain competitive in the light of larger changes, such as the widening of Route 80.
