NORTH HAVEN -- Salvatore Diglio always looked forward to lighting his Christmas tree, even if it took him all week. "When I was little, we'd get out the box of lights and my father would sit at the kitchen table for a whole week, checking each bulb," laughed daughter Carolyn Clarke of North Haven. "He'd be swearing and moaning and groaning the whole time, but he would never throw any of them out. He would sit there with a battery tester and check out every strand. It was so funny."

Diglio died Nov. 29 at age 81.
