Believe it or not, the race for control of the Town Council on Tuesday could come down to which of the town's two political parties has properly gauged the mood of voters concerning the future of the Community Pool.

While keeping taxes down and plans for retail development in the north end are also likely to be factors, the pool seems to be something that everyone has an opinion about. The facility opened in August 2003, three years behind schedule and more than $1 million over budget.
