Editor's note: Here are some online comments about today's editorial, "Videos' deletion hurts Milford cops' claim," previously published at NewHavenRegister.com. I wouldn't overcomplicate the reason behind the alleged intentional destruction of the evidence. Only a lawyer could believe that they were destroyed to protect the city from increased liability. It is much more likely that they were destroyed simply as a brick in the blue wall of silence. I doubt liability was considered at all. The thinking was probably more along the lines of: "Get rid of those videos before we have every reporter in Connecticut filing FOIA requests to pick through them."
