I read there is the possibility of offering transcendental meditation to Branford's public school students. As a taxpayer and resident of Branford, I am keenly interested in the education, health, and well-being of Branford's youth as well as how my taxes are spent.

As a former chief probation officer for the state, I have firsthand knowledge of the tremendous costs to society, both human and financial, when people do not have the tools to alleviate stresses in their lives. These unreleased stresses causes physical and mental disorders often resulting in poor heath and/or poor judgement. The prisons are full of the drug-dependent and the mentally ill.
