Summary


The Register's recent criticism of compact fluorescent light bulbs is just plain wrong. They are not more expensive than incandescent bulbs. They are much, much cheaper. Not only do they last eight to 10 times longer, but they consume a tiny fraction of the electricity that conventional bulbs do. Saving 75 cents at the counter for an incandescent will actually cost you about $75 more on your electric bills.

This is spending $75 to save 75 pennies!
