On May 28 there was a fire in the driveway behind my house at 144- 146/150-152 Goffe Terrace. The Fire Department personnel were prompt, courteous and thorough. As they left, one firefighter informed me that the pile of leaves that was on fire actually covered construction debris, which constituted "illegal dumping," and advised me it was a serious fire hazard. I called my alderman, Carl Goldfield, confident that a fire hazard and illegal dump site would be addressed.
Goldfield told me he would send the Public Works Department right away. To be safe, I also called the senior public advocate for assistance.See the full content of this document
