Summary


It was a simple errand I was planning as I stepped out of my apartment and walked out to where I had parked my car the night before on Orange Street. To my shock, my car was nowhere to be found. Being a forgetful person, I thought that maybe I had parked further up or down the road, but alas, my car was truly gone. Thinking it must have been stolen, I filed a police complaint only to find out that my car had been towed due to street sweeping.

If that was the motive, why wasn't there a single sweeping crew in the neighborhood? No sweeping crews, but there was no shortage of tow trucks. No warning was provided regarding the impending towing operations, and every sign on the street regarding street sweeping clearly stated that the towing season is April 1-Nov. 1, implying there is no towing outside of that period.
