Summary
I am sick and tired of seeing the Register using East Haven as a means of selling more newspapers. A few days ago, there was a front page headline referring to a spending freeze being put into effect. Upon reading the article, it appears that one or two items out of several hundred in the budget were running ahead of budget. This is not unusual. The solution is up to the Board of Finance to make the necessary transfers to resolve the matter.
The Register contacted the former mayor to comment, but not the former finance director. He would have said the town was on a course to have a surplus of more than $600,000 even with the isolated budget anomalies. The new administration simply is trying to continue to play politics, even though the election is over.See the full content of this document
