From Early Age, Valley Resident Followed Through On Ideas

Summary

SEYMOUR -- Lifelong resident William "Willie" Anglace had his own mind about things from an early age. "When we were living up on what we called the hill, one day Willie followed me without me knowing it," said a sister, Cheryl Micknack of Waterbury. "I was 11 and going out with my girlfriends, and here's my little 5-year-old brother following us. My mother and father realized he was missing and called the cops. They found him right near the area where we lived, thank goodness; he had not gone too far. Later, when I asked him where he thought he was going, he simply said he wanted to follow me."

Anglace, who died Nov. 28 at age 49, was a hockey player and big New York Rangers fan. "We used to go to Sound Tigers games in Bridgeport," said Anglace's oldest nephew, John "Jack" Micknack of Wallingford. "Uncle Willie was a huge Rangers fan, but he still liked the Sound Tigers, even though they're the Islanders' farm team. And it was less of a ride than going to Hartford to see the Wolf Pack."
