Dyson Drives Uconn

Summary


Jerome Dyson owns a step no guard on Central Arkansas possesses. Even few of his University of Connecticut teammates accelerate, elevate or read the court like the 6-foot-3 freshman guard. For the better part of four weeks, Huskies coach Jim Calhoun has only touted Dyson. Calhoun said he is capable of scoring 25 points each game and defends like a number of past prominent Husky guards. Even though Dyson led all UConn players with 16 points against Quinnipiac last week, Calhoun wondered when his freshman, much like the rest of UConn, would meet those expectations.

He has set the standard so much higher for a reason. Dyson only answered his coach's inquiries but took that extra step no one else had at the Hartford Civic Center on Friday night in the Hispanic College Fund Classic.
