Summary
I am a birder and I totally respect a person's right to go fishing. However the sight of shore birds, ducks and waterfowl tangled in fishing line, with legs dangling because they are numb from being caught in fishing line, is so disturbing and totally preventable.
Recently, at Sandy Point in West Haven, an American Oystercatcher, a beautiful shorebird, was spotted with a leg totally useless from being tangled in fishing line. Other people have told me that have seen similar things at their local beaches and ponds.See the full content of this document
