Dichello Picket Charged in Soup Tossing

Summary


Dichello Distributors began to permanently replace its picketing workers Monday, causing tensions to boil over when one man threw soup on a woman who was interviewing for a job, police said.

Assistant Police Chief Edward Koether said that at 10:27 a.m., officers arrested picket Daniel Mezzanotte, 56, of 145 Hall St., New Haven. He is accused of tossing soup at a potential replacement worker.
