Summary

In "Altering malpractice law won't save money, ending malpractice will," Forum columnist Charles Douthat implied that doctors did not practice defensive medicine because of the threat of malpractice suits, but because of the money it made. Clearly, the threat of malpractice suits is a critical factor that forces doctors to order expensive and unnecessary tests.
