Summary
Cub Scouts in packs 709, 712 and 722 will be going on a camping trip this weekend, but they won't be leaving the city. The Scouts are participating in the second food drive they call "Thanks-For- Giving." Unlike other food drives, though, this one will last 48 straight hours and the Scouts will be sleeping out at Wasson Field to make their collections.
The idea was born out of one Scout, Tyler Pelham, 9, wanting to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina last year. Tyler's father, Kevin Pelham, is the leader of Pack 7 and said they decided to turn that idea into the food collection they began last year.See the full content of this document
