WOODBRIDGE -- State Sen. Joseph Crisco, D-Woodbridge, brings with him a mix of corporate, academic and legislative experience as he returns to the campaign trail, seeking a seventh term in the 17th District. His challenger, Working Families Party candidate James S. Bartlett, 47, is a relative newcomer to politics. A Naugatuck resident, he is a business agent for Communication Workers of America Local 1298, a labor union at the SBC East telecommunications company.

The district includes Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Derby, Hamden, Naugatuck and Woodbridge.
