E. Haven Council Criticized for Silence On Broadwater Plan

The Town Council should immedately pass a resolution opposing the controversial Broadwater liquified natural gas plant proposed for a few miles offshore, state Rep. Michael Lawlor, D-East Haven, and the Town Council's only Democrat, April Capone-Almon, D-3, said. They also criticized Lawlor's opponent, Town Councilman Dan McCann, R-2, for not taking a stand.

"There is no excuse for our Town Council ducking this issue," said Lawlor. "Every other Shoreline town has formally opposed this project, but our Town Council has refused to even conduct a public hearing on the issue."
