NEW HAVEN -- Police late Tuesday named a Yale University animal technician as a "person of interest" in the death of Yale graduate student Annie Le and had the man in custody though he was not charged.

The office of the chief medical examiner did not release Tuesday the results of Le's autopsy, as expected. The death was ruled a homicide Monday, but the office withheld the manner in which she died.

Two sources confirmed Tuesday that she died from asphyxiation.

Police armed with a search warrant took Raymond Clark, 24, into custody to gather DNA evidence.
