Constables' Contract May Finally Be Settled

Summary


An agreement has been reached for a new constable contract to replace the one that expired in June 2005, First Selectman John Raffa announced this week.

The prolonged delay was due partly to a pension clause in the proposed contract that allows constables older than 65 who have worked for more than 20 years to retire and receive $300 a month.
