WEST HAVEN -- Wading through knee-high pepper plants and wild bushes of basil, garden maven Mary Head demonstrates how easily yard clippings and vegetable scraps are made into usable fertilizer. "You just pull up a few weeds and toss them into this black container," said Head, a lifelong gardener who lives on Court Street.
With the help of food scraps, leaves and a little time, the yard clippings will compost into rich, black fertilizer, Head explains.See the full content of this document
