The 2008 CIAC girls' basketball dedication award will be presented to Shelton's Howard Gura prior to the start of today's championship games. Gura, who is headmaster at Shelton Intermediate School, coached boys' basketball, baseball and football at Shelton before beginning his career as a girls' basketball coach.

In 18 seasons, Gura his teams compiled a 328-104 record and won the 1985 Class LL state championship.
