A group of seniors has submitted a petition with 3,100 signatures asking the Town Council to freeze property taxes for low-income senior citizens. The goal of submitting the petition now, said Ellen Carson, who organized the drive, is to force a townwide referendum on the subject in November.
"This council is not going to give us any leeway," Carson said. "We've got some pretty tough customers on there who feel they've given us enough already.
