Health Care, Labor Costs Plague Family Businesses?

Register Staff Family-owned businesses in Connecticut face a variety of challenges, but owners name rising health care and labor costs as their biggest concerns, according to a survey released Wednesday.

Most family-owned business executives -- 82 percent -- said the most critical issue facing them is the high cost of health care benefits, according to a survey by the Connecticut Business & Industry Association and the University of Connecticut Family Business Program.
