WEST HAVEN -- The 2nd Company, Governor's Foot Guard and the West Haven Historical Society will commemorate the anniversary of the British invasion of New Haven with a series of public programs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Foot Guard was the official militia of the early New Haven Colony, and was involved in that defense of New Haven on July 5, 1779.
Activities will start with a 9 a.m. march and program at Savin Rock, followed by a Foot Guard mini-concert in the Gazebo on the Green at 10 a.m.See the full content of this document
