If Connecticut Attorney General H. Richard Blumethal and some members of Congress get their way, the Internet's thriving poker gambling sites will fold for good. But four of the game's biggest names came to Capitol Hill Tuesday to urge lawmakers against enacting a ban, while the libertarian Cato Institute joined them, arguing that if citizens want to gamble on their personal computers it's none of the government's business.

Three separate bills currently before Congress would impose a ban on online poker gambling sites, which currently run freely in the United States, but are all based overseas because it is illegal to take bets from within the country.
