Behind the Costumes, a Very Interesting Lady?

Summary

OXFORD -- Sadie Spiwak had a real passion for Halloween and dressing up. "Halloween was one of my mother's favorite holidays," said her oldest child, Patricia Martino of Oxford. "She always dressed up for it and often in outlandish costumes, especially as she got older. When she was 82, she dressed up as Lady Godiva. which caused quite a stir at her senior center. At 84, she was a motorcycle mama. And when she was 87, she dressed up as a fat lady. The costume came with a little pump so that it made her look like she weighed 300 pounds. She always loved dressing up in different costumes as far back as I can remember."

Spiwak died April 28 at age 89.
