State's Attorney Drops Criminal Charges Against Cook, Zwick

State's Attorney Mary M. Galvin announced Tuesday that her office would not bring criminal charges in a case in which two former police officers allegedly abused Seymour Police Athletic League funds. The decision comes less than a week after former Seymour police Officer Charles Zwick agreed to pay $12,000 to settle a civil lawsuit by Attorney General Richard Blumenthal that claimed Zwick abused PAL funds.

Blumenthal filed the suit against Zwick and former Seymour Officer Bailey Cook in July 2003. The state also filed another lawsuit against Cook and PAL in October 2002 for failure to file financial documents with the state.
