Storeowner Beverly Safko and her friend and co-worker Carol Harrison don't have the space at their respective homes for farm animals, but they're working hard to help support seven mini-horses rescued in an abuse case. The "Little Angels Herd," as the group of equines have been dubbed, are staying at a farm in Litchfield County, recovering from malnutrition, depression and other ailments related to abuse they suffered in a case elsewhere in the state that resulted in the arrest of the animal's owner, Harrison said.
