Inland Wetlands Commission Chairman John Izzo resigned Wednesday, even after an ethics probe launched earlier this week was halted Wednesday when a city alderman calling for the investigation rescinded his complaint. Alderman Steve Blume, D-7, claimed at Tuesday night's Board of Aldermen meeting that Izzo brokered a deal at 141 Pulaski Highway before granting Inland Wetlands approval to a construction project at the site. Then Wednesday, after speaking directly with Izzo for the first time, Blume rescinded his claims, and said an investigation would not be necessary.
Izzo, a local Realtor, claimed the accusations were a misunderstanding, and that he only became involved with the property after its approval. Izzo said he is currently the property's broker.See the full content of this document
