Summary
Last season, baseball teams dreaded trailing Amity-Woodbridge in the late innings. Coaches and players knew who was usually coming in to close the door. Scott Meyer was Amity's version of The Fireman, entering the game in either the sixth or seventh innings to get the save and give the Spartans another win.
This year, Meyer made the successful transition from reliever to starter. He went 10-2 with a 0.75 ERA and helped lead Amity to the Southern Connecticut Conference championship.
